09 Sep Project GREEN 2022 Grant Awards
One of the most amazing things about Project GREEN is our sponsors and supporters. With their support we were able to cover the costs of running the Summit and could offer the registration fees back to teachers as grants. These grants are allowing them to adopt the curricula and outdoor classroom lessons they learned at the summit into their classes without incurring any expense.
This year we awarded twelve Project GREEN 2022 attendee grants, all of them to regional teachers. Grant requests varied widely this year and we focused first on those that enabled teachers to use the lessons from this year’s conference.
We granted memberships to the Idaho Environmental Education Association (IdEEA), field notebooks, 44 compasses, materials for classes learned from breakouts, and 41 Daubenmire quadrat frames for ecological field surveying. It’s great to see educators excited about taking students to the outdoor classroom and being able to align it with the curriculum, and being able to provide them with the resources they need to be successful. We look forward to the next summit and hope you can join us next spring! Call for presenters and committee members for 2023 Project GREEN starts now.
